If you are interested in Seismography or very low ‘inaudible’ sounds, we have some interesting kit to play with. Did you know that you can ‘hear’ thunderstorms coming (like some animals do) or that giraffes actually talk to each other but people thought they did not, since their sounds are so low that the human ear can not hear them. From Kickstarter we got 2 kits: a Raspberry Shake and a Raspberry Boom. As you might have guessed, both kits are based on a Raspberry Pi, so it is useful as you know how to work with those a little.
Let us know in advance if you want to experiment with them, then we bring them along!
- DIY seismograph; the Raspberry Shake measures and monitors all the subtle vibrations made by our planet https://raspberryshake.org
- Infrasound: the Raspberry Boom detects the “inaudible” noises in our atmosphere which are happening all the time through infrasound (0-20Hz) https://raspberryshake.org/products/raspberry-boom/
