Sensemakers Workshop: From LLM to AI agents
April 15 @ 19:00 – 21:00

Large Language Models that answer questions are old news. The frontier is AI agents — systems that browse the web, write code, and complete multi-step tasks with minimal human input. But how do they actually work, and what could go wrong?
In this two-hour session by Michiel Bontenbal, we start from first principles: what AI models can and genuinely cannot do on their own. From there, we build up step by step — how AI systems are extended with tools and external capabilities. We’ll look at frameworks developers use to orchestrate them today and a close look at where the technology currently stands. Of course we’ll look at the risks of this early technology. There are many examples where things can go wrong.
If you are willing, you can go a bit more hands on and do some coding yourself. If you prefer to go handson, some experience with programming (preferably python) is requested. If you don’t have much experience our volunteers are there to help you get started. The event is in English but if you only speak Dutch, we’ll help you out.
We’re sure to have a great evening.
