Codam students and sensemakers create an interactive football panel

Codam College is a tuition free coding school on the Marineterrein where you learn from—and with—your peers. In 2022 several students and Sensemakers started a joint make-a-thon collaboration to bring an engaging installation to the Marineterrein Amsterdam community.

For over a year, Codam students and Sensemakers engineers have been rolling up their sleeves to drill, solder and connect IoT devices to create an interactive, fully functional football panel! ⚽️ The installation of 2.4m x 1.4m comprises a gamified application that registers points scored when kicking a football at the panel.

The work took much longer than expected because of the size, all the woodwork and electronics involved. But because of the diversity in talents involved it was a great journey in which we learned a lot and got to launch a great new experience for students who want to clear their minds for a while!
